Week 50: this was not the week I’d had planned as I came into it with 25 miles running and 71 miles cycling left to do; it should have been easy to get them almost to nothing over the course of the week but that wasn’t meant to be.

It started off badly, being absolutely cream-crackered after the flying visit to Edinburgh the previous weekend, and then I was out of sorts with a cold/tummy trouble for most of the week too, finally getting knocked off my feet with a bad sickness bug-thing Saturday night and all day Sunday.

Bad news for my mileage but even worse as it was my weekend with the girls and I lost a whole day with them being laid up in bed. Worse still was the fact that I missed taking them to the pantomime too – not happy!

I’m tantalisingly close to hitting all of my targets for this year so hopefully with a bit of luck – and no more bloody illness! – I’ll have them beat in the next few days!
