Week 21: after hitting my first target the week before, last week was a major let down. I came down with the flu and it seriously knocked me off my feet.
I was laid up, unable to do pretty much anything, for most of the week which was extremely frustrating. The heat didn’t help much either as it was horrid inside at home!
Still, taking the time out to get better – sort of – definitely paid off as it meant I could take part and not do too badly in this year’s Bupa London 10K on Sunday. It was a ridiculously hot day but I managed to finish to course in 1:05:43. Shelli and Alex ran it again, coming in at 1:17:21 and 1:13:58 respectively. A great effort by both of them!
With the pottering round the house and miles walked over the weekend I broke through the halfway mark for my walking miles target for the year, which is great news.
Having a couple of weeks not running hardly at all means I’m not as far ahead with my running miles. Hopefully I’ll hit the halfway mark in the next few weeks if all goes to plan.

Sponsor Me Please!
Don’t forget, you can get to my fundraising page at the following location:
The page will be live throughout my challenge this year (and a couple of months after) so please, when you can, give a few pounds to help some very worthy charities.
Why not do like my good mate Stu’s doing? He’s sponsoring me 2p a mile – which is amazingly generous, thanks Stu! You don’t have to pledge that much; 1p, 1/2p, 1/10p…it’ll all add up considering I’ll be covering at least 4012 miles this year!
Thanks. It means a lot and is very much appreciated.
