Week 8: a much better week for sure, although it started off not so good.
Over the weekend before this challenge week started Shelli had a bit of a tummy bug, which I subsequently picked up – doh! I spent Sunday night in a pretty bad way and spent Monday at home either in bed or dead on the sofa. Other than pottering round the house to keep my fluids up – nothing other than a few biscuits were consumed that day – I did nothing at all. Not a great way to start the training week that’s for sure, but a sensible approach nonetheless.
Tuesday was a better day, again at home to make sure the bug was gone before possibly infecting everyone at work, and by the afternoon I was feeling almost back to full strength so I eased myself into the week with a gentle run and some miles on the bike.
Much better. And the week continued at a reasonable pace too I’m pleased to say as you’ll see below.

Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve still got left to do this year to hit all my targets for this challenge:

Running (Miles) |
Cycling (Miles) |
2012 Miles |
---|---|---|---|
813.94 | 828.69 | 1514.50 | 1157.12 |
All in all a much better week that last week, almost doubling the miles covered – it’s amazing what you can do when you’re feeling fit and healthy eh? – and breaking through the 800 mile mark as well!
Don’t forget, you can get to my fundraising page at the following location:

The page will be live throughout my challenge this year (and a couple of months after) so please, when you can, give a few pounds to help some very worthy charities.
Why not do like my good mate Stu’s doing? He’s sponsoring me 2p a mile – which is amazingly generous, thanks Stu! You don’t have to pledge that much; 1p, 1/2p, 1/10p…it’ll all add up considering I’ll be covering at least 4012 miles this year!
Thanks. It means a lot and is very much appreciated.
