Week 14: after the long weekend of walking last weekend I picked up a muscle injury, my left calf muscle to be precise. I thought it was going to ease off after a day or so but that didn’t happen. By the weekend it still wasn’t 100%. Not good.
Trying to be sensible about the training, and with a lot of the year still to go, I took it very easy during the week to make sure that I didn’t do any more damage to my leg. It was tough and very frustrating not doing anything. I’m up on my mileage on all three disciplines so I tried not to stress too much about not doing anything.
All I wanted to do was go for a run but knowing that my first 10K event is coming up soon – the Maxifuel 10K this coming Sunday – I did what I could to make sure that I would be okay for that.
